The title is referring to charging infrastructure and I want to spend more time showing off the ability to take road trips in an electric vehicle.
I haven’t been blogging as often as I had been previously. I was very busy working for Texas EV Alliance, promoting EV adoption and lobbying for EVs in Texas. I retired last May and am getting back into writing, as my spare time got a LOT less spare.
My wife Bonnie and I plan a lot of road trips and camping in retirement and we’ll be sharing those journeys with you. Here’s one we are seriously considering:
It’s a 9,000 mile round trip and, as is shown on the map, there isn’t much DC fast charging infrastructure once you’re in British Columbia and the Yukon. Fortunately, there is plenty of Level 2 charging at hotels.
The route would take us to Palo Duro Canyon State Park, the Garden of the Gods, the Air Force Academy, Rocky Mountain National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, Banff National Park (Canada), Jasper National Park, Liard River Hot Springs and of course, Alaska a state we have yet to visit. That trip is at least a year away, as we need to plan all the sites we want to visit and this year, there are forest fires along the route.
We’re wanting to go all over Texas as well, with a goal of camping at every Texas state park.
